GCU’s College of Nursing and Healthcare Professions is seeking an innovative faculty member to lead their new Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (OT) program.  As a full-time Faculty Program Lead, you will be responsible for full program development and oversight to ensure high quality and accreditation/regulatory compliance.  The candidate should value education and inter-professional practice and support the mission of the university.

What you will do:

  • Provide leadership, management and administration for the academic program including curriculum development, strategic program planning and evaluation, selection of faculty and staff, maintenance of accreditation and commitment to strategies for professional development that is in concert with the University’s mission and vision.

  • Assess and analyze program metrics, such as faculty workload and scholarly productivity, student satisfaction, program graduates, graduation rates, enrollments, etc. to assure program goals are being met

  • Develop and provide instruction consistent with the University’s course load requirements for Program Lead faculty that incorporates current teaching methodologies, technologies and other trends that reflect advances in the requisite discipline educational instruction

  • Assess and mentor student performance in areas like progress, professional behaviors and academic standing in accordance with University Assessment Practices and accreditation standards

  • Lead the curriculum design and development process as part of a collaborative team; ensure curriculum meets professional, accreditation, and university requirements, and incorporate relevant and innovative teaching methodologies/pedagogies

What you need:

  • Doctoral degree (PhD preferred in any related field, including biomedical sciences) or a post-professional occupational therapy doctoral degree awarded by an institution that is accredited by an institutional accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (USDE)

  • Initially certified occupational therapist with an active, unencumbered license in Occupational Therapy.  (Must be licensed in the state of Arizona prior to being hired.)

  • 8 years documented experience in Occupational Therapy as outlined by ACOTE accreditation standards

  • Minimum 3 years full time teaching at post-baccalaureate level
