Many school-aged children struggle with higher level motor skills that their peers have developed. These "clumsy" children may demonstrate difficulties with activities of daily living, handwriting, during recess or athletics. The ability to move safely in a coordinated manner requires upright postural control and an accurate understanding of the relationship between self and the environment. This is developed though movement experiences, both successful and erroneous. In this webinar, the underlying etiology of clumsiness, concepts of motor learning and motor control will be discussed in relationship to neuroplasticity and the NDTA™ Contemporary Practice of NDT. The course will discuss evaluation tools to help identify areas of concern and treatment strategies utilizing an integrated approach. Course instruction method includes: Lecture, Demonstration, Videos, Case Studies, and Question/Answer.
